My Story

I received Jesus as my Savior at a young age, was raised in a Christian home, and attended Perry Baptist Church and School in Perry, MI. As a teen, I committed to prepare myself to serve the Lord and often felt drawn to missions, but didn’t sense that God was calling me to go.

After I graduated from college, my former youth pastor—who had by then become a missionary—asked, “when are you coming to Hungary?” In 1999, I had the opportunity to visit in Hungary, and began to seriously ask God for direction. I was excited, but unsure whether God was calling me to be a missionary. But the words “Just GO!” echoed in my mind. In March 2001, one of ABWE’s former presidents, preached at our church’s missions conference. His first sermon emphasized that one word—GO. At the Holy Spirit’s leading I surrendered my life to missions.

I can see how God has prepared me over the years for ministry in Central & Eastern Europe. I began working with projects soon after my appointment in 2001, and I have been actively carrying out my role since 2005, beginning with an initial short-term (2005-2007) while I completed prefield ministry. I began full-time career service in Fall 2010. What a joy and privilege it is to follow this path God has laid out for me.

Thank you for allowing me to share this ministry with you. I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I continue to follow God’s leading. I would love to share with you how you can partner with me in ministry or talk to you about opportunities where you might be able to serve. Contact me, my home church, or ABWE for more information.
